Venus was a bit surprised when he feigned. She quickly covered her surprise by blocking. "Ah! I give up!" Venus shouted. She was sweating really hard and exhausted. She held up her sword just in case he decided to keep attacking her. Usually, she would keep fighting but her arms were starting to get sore.

Damian smiled slightly when she blocked him. It was pleasing, finding an opponent who was able to block everything -- it made Damian up the bar, trying to win through skill rather than strength. In a real fight, he'd be using his strength, too. He wouldn't just try to show off how skilled his was. No, he'd pull all the stops. However, he noticed how tired Venus was becoming. Aww, so fast? It was all over? Instead of continuing to batter her, he stepped back and panted, breathing heavily.
Wiping his forehead with his left hand, he noticed the sweat. Looks as if he wasn't as energized as he had thought he was, though he didn't feel exhausted. He would've been excited to keep going, maybe to fight another one. Excited to spar again on another day, anyway, since now he felt as if he might like to hang out with Venus. "I guess I win," he replied calmly, flashing her a quick smile, actually showing some white teeth. Normally his grins weren't large enough to reveal his pearly whites, but fighting did make him feel better sometimes.

Venus set the sword on the ground and wiped the sweat from her face. She never normally had so much fun sparring. Her sister took the fun out of it when she would talk about math stuff. Venus grinned back when Damian smiled at her. "I suppose you do win, but next time Im going to kick your butt!" Venus said with a giggle.
"What do you want to do know?" Venus asked. She had the whole day to herself. Her sister, Panda had wanted to go exploring in the woods and look at angles and stuff. That really didnt sound like fun to Venus so she had stayed behind.

Damian grinned when she dropped her sword. He strolled over to the rack and returned his weapon, as he was done for the day at the practice ring, he thought. Her reaction made him chuckle slightly at her comment. "If you say so," he replied simply, amused. She was amusing, he found. The dark-haired son of Athena remained outside of the main arena and took several deep breaths. It had been a fun match, he thought. Damian wanted to test himself against the best at the camp, or even in the real world, on a quest, but this had been fun. Fun and educational aren't always the same, but Damian felt that no matter what, he learns something from a fight.
Her second set of words confused Damian slightly. He hadn't asked her anything about herself, though he supposed she was just continuing the conversation so that they're time near each other didn't become awkward and silent and dry and dull. He shoved his bangs out of his face and furrowed his brow thoughtfully. "Well, Venus...." He trailed off, pensive. What to ask? She was a child of Janus, so she probably had a twin. That wasn't a truly necessary question. Instead, he just thought of the recent events. "Where did you learn to fight like that?" he settled with.

Venus frowned at him. "Ill fight you again and prove it to you, just not today" She said with a shrug.
"I want to a camp every summer for five years where they taught sword fighting. I really wanted to learn and I was good at it. Not as good as my sister though" Venus explained. Venus found herself with nothing to say so she just stood there awkwardly. She studied him up and down, taking in all his features. He was really cute.

Damian felt his mouth twitch, again, into something of a smile at her reaction. "I don't doubt it," he told her calmly. Neither time he spoke was he mocking her. On the contrary, he found her to be sweet and amusing and didn't feel that he was required by any kind of vindictive vengeance to lash out with cruelty or harsh teasing. No, this was Damian being almost playful.
Listening to her story, he nodded and fell into thought for a few seconds before he clawed his way back to the world of the living. If he sunk too deep into his own mentality and thoughts, he'd never be back. "I got here a while ago. I only came for summers before, but now I stay year-round," he informed her, noting that he was actually being rather vague, though it wasn't intentional in any way. Sometimes Damian could be vague and broad when he wasn't using many words to enhance specificity. "Your sister must be very good, then," he replied in a complimentary manner with a tiny smile. She wasn't bad, it was true. She just needed to work on her stamina, Damian felt. Stamina was actually the biggest killer, he found from his limited, if long-time, experience.

"Good" She replied when he said he didnt doubt she would beat him next time.
"This is my first time here" Venus told him. She narroed her eyes for a moment. "She uses math to win, though I dont quite understand how" Venus said with a shrug. "Do you have any siblings, Damian?" She asked curiously. She didnt want to sound like she was being rude she just felt the need to know more about him. He was rather mysterious in her mind.

Damian chuckled slightly at her response. She was determined and confident. Her god-parent was in charge of time stuff, or that was Damian's understanding, at least. Then he heard what she said about her sister. That was odd, but Damian figured he could understand it. It was possible. If the use of math was combined with theoretic dynamic and kinematic physics, then it was extremely possible to understand how to fight. Using trigonometry for the angles of weapons, geometry for their shapes, all sorts of good mathy type stuff can help fighting. However, the mind would have to move very quickly or time would have to be slower. It was different.
In response to her question, Damian had an answer. "Aside from my siblings in the Athena cabin, yes. My father had a few children before me." Impeccable grammar, too, as was worthy of a child of Athena. He didn't disclose that his father was married when he had a child -- Damian -- with Athena. It didn't result in divorce, but it did result in a somewhat neglectful childhood on the demigod's behalf. His father's wife wasn't very pleased with him, and her children weren't, either. His father wasn't always very affection and warm, though. Didn't matter. Damian took off when his protector, a satyr who now had another assignment, told him about gods and such. Damian was claimed shortly after arriving at camp.

Venus sighed and closed her eyes for a moment. "The only sibling I have is my twin and shes a smarty pants, which gets annoying" Venus said. Her sister had always been perfect at everything she did and her parents ad practically worshipped her, leaving Venus in the shadows. Venus remembered their sixteenth birthday when Pandora had gotten a new car and stuff and all she had gotten was an ipod. Venus foundherself being sucked into her memories and quickly shook her head. "sorry for sounding rude about my sister but.." Venus just shrugged her shoulders.

Damian was in the Athena cabin. He understood smarty pants, though he probably happened to be one of them. He wasn't very outspoken about his intelligence, he hoped, but it was definitely there. His mother made sure of that, and his father wasn't dumb hick or anything. He didn't know birthdays as a gift-giving situation, really, and he felt that exchanging gifts was not for him. It wasn't commonly done around him, and so he found it normal to not do it. Damian chuckled slightly. "No, don't worry about that. I understand," he reassured her. It suddenly occurred to him, somewhat randomly, that he'd never really encountered his mother face-to-face. He didn't pray, really, and he the only gifts he offered her were the sacrifices they were forced to make at mealtimes. He didn't ask her for anything, and so he received nothing. He survived on his own, and he never asked to see her. It was weird. Not something he often thought about. However, he was able to snap his attention back to Venus and wait for a reply.

Venus wasnt sure that she believed he understood. She studied him incredulously. "Im sorry Im not sure you understand" She told him, shaking her head. He was on of the first guys she had every really talked to. Her and her sister had gone to a private school most of their lives and Pandora had attracted all the guys and Venus had been alone. Venus had made a few friends because of her friendly nature but most people had liked her sister better. She had grown up in a horrible environment but had become a better person because of it. Now, here in camp people were annoyed by her sisters smartness and Venus easily made friends. Venus slowly found herself being absorbed by her memories.

Damian watched the girl stare at him, look at him as if he just turned into a gorgon. Yes, that was irony because his mother created a gorgon. A silent irony in his head while he was finding words to describe how she was inspecting him. She shook her head and told him that she didn't think he really understood. Athena kids being who they were, and then his past? He understood. He could forgive the rudeness about her sister and everything, too. He understood. He wouldn't pour out his history to her or tell her all his innermost secrets, but he could ask her one little question. "Do you love her?" he inquired calmly. He was referring to her sister when he said those four simple words. Venus looked as though she was about to sink back into memories, so Damian wanted to keep her consciously around. There was nothing more boring and eerie than somebody staring into space when you're trying to talk to them. Of course, Damian wasn't the chatty type, so it wasn't much of an issue for him, but when another person -- to whom he might have been speaking, no less -- fell silent and had glazed eyes and a dead expression, it was discomforting unless ignored. Seeing as they were right next to the arena, falling into a stupor of blissful ignoring the rest of the world wasn't the safest idea.

Venus snapped back to attention at his question and bit her lip uncomfortably. "Of course, but not as much as i should love her" Venus said. She frowned as she realized she had been sinking into memories. "Im sorry, my memories seem to suck me in sometimes" Venus said. She quickly returned back to the topic, "I'm kind of obligated to love Panda, she's family. I will always care even if I hate her guts at most times" Venus said, she smiled slightly at Damian.

Damian almost replied to everything she said separately, but he decided against it. He almost told her that it wasn't necessary to love family, he didn't love his family on his father's side and he wasn't very close to those on his mother's, but he didn't. He felt that she probably loved Pandora -- she said she did -- but felt jealous or resentful or irritated much of the time, and so that affected her emotions and feelings and memories of her twin. With a small nod, Damian responded, "I understand." He always seemed to understand a lot of things. Deciding that it might make the conversation stale, he thought of finding a new way to keep her talking. In this half-second search, he stumbled upon a fantastic short question that would probably later require some form of speech from him, but that was okay. He could handle it. "How did you come to be at Camp Half-Blood?" he inquired calmly, watching her with his blue eyes.

"How did I get to camp half-blood?" Venus repeated his question slowly. "Well, we were on our way to the summer camp I told you about. Pandora was reading in the front seat like usual and me and Sunshine, my satyr, were sitting in the back telling each other stories. My mom seemed really nervous and kept shooting my sister worried glances" Venus paused fro a moment to roll her eyes. We were almost to camp when some weird bird things attacked us. My sister sat there screaming and I kind of flipped out. Sunshine took off all the stuff that makes her look human and started fighting them. My mom almost left her there but I jumped out of the car and helped, to bad my sword wasnt bronze. We fought them for awhile and ended up having to run to camp. We all have scars from the stupid birds." Venus rolled up the sleeve of her shirt to reveal a scar across her shoulder.
