Humans were never something that Edwin understood. Maybe it was because he never tried to. He was always afraid of his other side lashing out. He never liked it when Nathan took over his body. The person known as Edwin would black out and Nathan took his spot and he always did something bad to Edwin's body or to someone else. The worse thing was that Edwin never knew what was done while he was blacked out and most people ended up hating him after he came to.
So, instead of trying to find some demigod to make friends at in this new camp, he went exploring. He ended up at the stables somehow and decided maybe he could make a friend with a horse or a bird or something. Edwin walked quietly into the stables, afraid of anyone hearing him. He then walked up to a black horse and hesitantly petted him. "Hey there...what's your named?"
He knew the horse wouldn't reply, but there were just somethings he had to do or else he would seriously go crazy.

Spyro skipped happily into the stables with her riding gear on. She was so ready for a ride. She approached a white horse with small red flecks. "Hello, Cupcake" Spyro said with a grin as she patted the horses nose.
She turned to grab something when she saw the other boy in the stables. "Hello! My name is Spyro. Im the daughter of Demeter. Whats your name?" She said as she bounced over to him.

Edwin continued petting the horse. He really wanted to take him out, but didn't know anything about horses at all. Well, except that they like sugar...and even that he wasn't sure. Edwin made a mental note that he had to read a book on horses when he got back to his cabin. He had time to do whatever he wanted now that he was at the camp. The whole Nyx cabin was to himself for now which he appreciated. He didn't need to worry about lashing out.
Suddenly Edwin heard a woman's voice and her jumped startled. He slipped and fell on he hay filled floor. It took him a while to orientate himself. He looked up too see a girl, all smiles and giddy. Edwin tilted his head out of confused but decided it would be safe to answer her question. "H-hi....um...I-I'm"
Edwin cleared his throat. He had a horrible stuttering problem when he was nervous and he was usually nervous around people. He took a deep breath. "I'm Edwin Nathaniel Chavek and the son of Nyx...nice to meet you.."[/color] Edwin didn't really know if he was happy to meet the girl named Spyro, but he knew that was what was polite to say so he decided to throw it in. tag: open!note: dude! these two will be interesting[/blockquote][/blockquote][/size][/color][/font] |

Spyro's eyes filled with surprise when he fell. "Oh my!" She said still smiling. "Here let me help you." She held out her hand for him and pulled him to his feet giving him a huge hug in the process. She released him quickly because he already seemed really nervous.
"Is this your horse?" she asked. The horse was really pretty and seemed gentle, almost a perfect fit for this boy.

Suddenly, Edwin was on his feet and in the girl's arms. He couldn't help but feel awkward from the human contact, but there was another feeling mixed in there? Warmth? Ed wasn't so sure so he just disregarded the feeling.
Edwin looked at the black hair next to him. When you looked closely, you could see dark gray specks in his hair. Edwin really liked the horse. It had been gentle and calm and even let Edwin pet him even though he bet he was doing it all wrong. "Um, no...I don't know anything about horses. B-but, he's nice."
Edwin's surprised wide eyed look turned soft with a smile.

Spyro continued to smile. this boy was different. He seemed more unsure of what he said. "Would you like to learn to ride? I could probably teach you" Spyro offered. Maybe she could get this boy to not feel so awkward. He looked like the type who got bullied alot.

Edwin's wide eyed look returned, but this time it was not out of fear. He was surprised that someone was nice enough to offer to teach him to do something. Ever since he was little he remembered having to teach himself. Teachers and parents and classmates always saying, no you can't do that level of math yet or that book is too hard for you. He saw it as an insult, so he taught himself that level of math and he toughed it through the hard books.
Edwin physically shook his head. This was probably why he didn't have too many friends. He was always thinking to himself, always in his own little world. He cleared his throat and forced what he thought was a pretty decent smile for a kid like him. "I would love it if you taught me...I-I will pay you of course!! Um, I suppose dollars are kind of useless here, huh? Eddie asked the last question more to himself than to Spyro. It was a weird feeling, but Edwin was actually happy.

Spyro studied Edwin as he thought it over. He seemed kind of cute, in his own way. "No! You dont need to pay me! You just have to give me a hug every once in awhile and I will be happy!" Spyro said. The grin on her face probably couldnt get any bigger then it already was. "Do you want to learn today? Or shall we wait?"

Edwin thought about it for a second. He wasn't sure if he would rather pay the girl or have to give her a hug whenever she wanted...and she seemed like the huggy type. It wasn't like Edwin was so repulsed by human contact, it was just hard for him to show affection in such away. He could barely express his feelings verbally, how the heck was he supposed to express them physically?
Edwin cleared his throat..again. "Maybe...if we could possibly...start today?"
[/color] Edwin looked at the black horse in front of him patting his nose softly. "I would like to learn how to ride him. Unless he's someone else's horse! Spyro looked at the card by the horses stall she studied it for a moment, reading it over. "This horse is unowned and unnamed, so you get to be the lucky one to claim and name it!" Spyro told him excitedly. She quickly wet into the back room and found a sadle and bridle for the horse. It took her awhile to find the right size, according to the information on the card. When she finally had everything, plus a few sugar cubes and carrots, she made her way back over to edwin. "Have you decided a name yet, Edwin?"

The horse was unowned. Edwin almost let out a sigh of relief. He didn't notice that he had been holding his breath. Spyro went off to get...well something. He wasn't quite sure because he wasn't paying attention too much. He turned to face the horse. His horse. He had ever had any pets when he was younger and he wasn't sure what to do with his new horse. Hopefully Spyro would cover that as well. Suddenly she returned with a whole bunch of foreign items in her arms. He did notice the sugar cubes and carrots though. "Oh a name? U-um...
Edwin stared at his horse not knowing what to call him. Then it suddenly popped into his mind. "Shadow. "Shadows a wonderful name!" Spyro said with a grin. She climbed into the stall and offered Shadow a sugar cube, Shadow sniffed it before licking it up. Spyro giggled at the horse and gave it a hug. She leaned over the door to talk to Edwin."You should probably fill in Shadows card so that no one else takes him" Spyro turned and put the seddle pad on te horse back before adding the saddle. Shadow seemed nervous and Spyro turned once again to Edwin. "Talk to Shadow so I can finish putting the equipment on him for your ride. I need him calm." Spyro's face was serious for the first time in a long time.
