Just Observe [PIPER]

Eli loved to work out. He loved to punch a punching bag, he loved to run the shores of the beach, he loved to climb the wall, and he especially loved working on his sword skills. What he wasn't good at? Well, that was archery. He refused to admit it of course, he was Eli! Good looking and talented in every area...(except archery). See doesn't have the same ring to it. So, Elijah was here to observe. He would watch the best of the best practice and maybe he would notice what he was doing wrong, and when they were all gone, he would pick up a bow and arrow and maybe, fingers crossed, he would hit the target. Just maybe.

Eli leaned against the wall and crossed his arms over his chest. To others he hoped he looked like a guy sizing someone up, checking how talented they were. He hoped no one thought he was just looking and had no talent. He watched as the kids of Apollo would hit the center ring of every target ever single time the arrow left them. He couldn't help but feel jealousy within him.

Piper smiled at herself. She picked up a bow & went to the easiest target, just so she could give older archers space to practice. She strung her bow & grabbed some arrows. Then, she shot towards the target, &...YES! It hit the bulls-eye! "Yes! Pefect," Piper was so happy, she had hit bulls-eye again. She often did, but that didn't stop her from being happy about Archery. She moved to the nexct target, a little harder. She shot, &...miss. She wasn't surprised, she had only ever done the easiest, she guessed she would have to learn & advance. She had hit the one just outside the middle.

Eli lost focus and the big bad professionals and switched focus to a girl who moved onto the easier target. He watched as she hit the bulls-eye and rejoiced. Eli let out a laugh. He made his way over and watched as she missed the second target. Just a beginner. He walked up to her without any warning. So, who are you the daughter of? It's sort of obvious it's not Apollo."

Eli chuckled. He did not mean to be mean, but his remark definitely came across that way.

Piper was upset, not much, but a little. "Actually, i am a daughter of Apollo. I'm just pretty new to camp." Her voice had a bit of an edge to it. "I've done Archery before. Just on easier targets." She eas a little bit sad, & she tried to hide it, but she couldn't.

"Oh..sorry my bad." Eli noticed that he had angered the girl and that definitely was not his intention. Elijah was the kind of guy who tried to charm people not get on their bad side...even if he only wanted to get on their good side so he could get in their pants. Eli extended his hand. "Let's start over shall we? I'm Elijah Emmerson, but please call me Eli." Eli smiled one of his famous smiles, making sure to make eye contact.

"Okay. I'm Piper. Nice to meet you, Eli. I'm in the Apollo cabin. Which one are you in?" She was fine with that. She didn't like being angry much, but she was still a bit annoyed. She looked around her at the more experienced archers, & watched what they were doing. That didn't help much, because they were using different bows.

"Well hello Piper. That's an interesting name. Oh and I thought it was obvious."

Eli chuckled slightly. "I'm in the Aphrodite cabin. Only guy in there so far."[/color] Eli smiled proudly. Sure he was aware that he probably sounded super conceited, but that's who he was. He knew what his strengths were and was not afraid to verbalize or show them off.

"That's an amazing achievement. I think so, anyway." Piper was really impressed. It was impressive. She was sure there were other girls in her cabin, & probably twice as many boys. I bet they're all amazing archers, thought Piper. "It's really cool. I'm sure i'm not the only girl in my cabin. It must be pretty cool to be the only boy in a cabin."

Eli chuckled more to himself than out loud. This girl was interesting all right. She was a bit quirky and maybe even slightly weird. "Ha, well, there just aren't that many guys who are Aphrodite's son. Apollo is a tad different I suppose."

Eli watched the other archers awkwardly. He didn't know what to do or what to say to this girl. He usually was pretty okay with first meetings but for some reason this girl was just hard to spark a conversation with. "So...do you have a boyfriend? Or girlfriend perhaps?[/color]

"No, actually I don't. I've only ever had friends, & i'm okay with that." Piper wasn't lying. She was okay without a boyfriend. "I don't need romance. Me & my friends usually went to dances together & played around. I'm just the kind of girl who keeps to herself, me & my friends were like the loner group of our school."

The loner group. That explained Piper's awkwardness. Eli was never really social in his other life with other students, but he had to learn how to keep a conversation going and how to entertain or else...Eli mentally shook his head and focused back on Piper. "Aw, a gorgeous girl like you and no boyfriend? Really that's a shame. But you know, the good thing about this place is that you can change. You can be a totally different person. You get a do over. I think that's a whole gift within itself. So who knows, whenever you decide to change and maybe get a boyfriend, I'll be here."

Eli winked and smiled slyly.

"I'll think about it." Piper understood Eli's intentions, but winning her over wasn't too easy, unless she was willing to, which she wasn't. Not yet. She picked up her bow & went for an easy shot. Come on, just one more bulls-eye, she thought. It went & it hit! "Yes! I did it!" She always got excited over little things like that. She believed it was the little things that made us who we are today.

Eli watched as Piper totally disregarded his statement which irritated him a bit, but he didn't make a big deal out of it. Most people drooled at the chance to flirt with Eli and he knew it. He shrugged it off as one time occurrence. Piper made another bulls-eye and he clapped "Well, you're getting better. That's good to see."

"Thanks," she said, not really caring if anyone was around. She decided to try her luck, so she went to the hardest target. "She shoots...she SCORES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" She laughed at her good luck, and smiled at herself. What were we talking about? she thought. She was still laughing when she went back to the second easiest target & hit a couple times. First Hit: miss! Second Hit : score!

Elijah continued to watch Piper as she made most the targets, and missed a couple. Though he came to watch people shoot arrows, he was seriously losing interest. Piper was good looking and that was easy for anyone to see. He was done giving small praises to Piper and just wanted to flirt with her which she seemed totally uninterested in. This annoyed Eli. All of a sudden, Elijah laid a hand on Piper's shoulder. His voice got deeper and he tried to use any power that his mother, Aphrodite, gave him. "We should really go somewhere else..."

Eli wasn't sure how this would work. He hated to admit it, but his powers weren't all that strong. Sure, he was able to manipulate a lot of people to do what he wanted, but that was because they were naturally attracted to him. He wasn't used to having to use his powers.
